BLIS was founded by Professor Emeritus John Tagg, who suffered from strep throat as a child and was determined to find a better way to prevent it. His research at Otago University led to the discovery of BLIS K12™, a probiotic that can prevent strep throat by inhibiting the growth of bad bacteria. This breakthrough became the foundation for the company.
Professor John Tagg continues his mission to optimize human health through probiotics, still working at Blis Technologies today.
Alongside him, the company and portfolio has grown. The world has also caught up with Professor Tagg’s pioneering research and now understand the power of the human microbiome.
